As part of a dynamic and supporting team, your focus will be on ensuring that our boats are operated in a safe and efficient manner. You’ll work closely with the Master of the vessel, assisting at the helm while approaching and manoeuvring in the harbour, carrying out drills and checks on safety equipment, and planning and undertaking the loading/discharge operations. You’ll have the chance to continuously utilise your skill set as we operate in one of the busiest stretches of water in the world, with a range of different crafts and boats to navigate, along with a vibrant on-board culture and great customers. A willingness to study for local PEC’s issued by the Competent Harbour Authorities. Valid medical certificate (ENG1) The ability to plan and organise effectively, ensuring communication is consistently provided across the operation. The confidence to make decisions as and when required, with strong leadership skills. A drive and determination to achieve the highest level of care, safety and customer service.

Deck Hand

We are currently recruiting a Deck Hand to join our team on board our Ro-Ro ferries on a fixed term basis. Your duties will be of a general-purpose nature, to include loading and discharging of the vehicle decks, safe operation and maintenance of the vessels and their equipment, all the time providing excellent customer service in all areas, as required and directed by the Master. In addition, and when directed, you may be required to assist in the loading/car parking operations ashore, or in the Food and Beverage operations on board. Our shift system covers a 24-hour operation, 7 days a week, so we might need you to come in early, start late or even work overnight. Accommodation isn’t available on-board so it’s key that you reside a commutable distance from our Southampton terminals. You must have previous experience as deck crew in a seagoing role, with preferably an EDH or AB certificate, and must be able to demonstrate a high level of Customer Service skill, ensuring that our customers have an enjoyable and safe experience. You must be well presented, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work under pressure. You will also be required to hold the below certifications: * an ENG1 medical certificate Basis Sea Survival STCWs Elementary First Aid STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting STCW Previous experience as deck crew in a seafaring role holding an EDH or AB certificate is essential.

Master

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Fixed Term Master to join our RoRo Fleet for 12 months.  Reporting to one of the Senior Masters, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the ship and the effective leadership and performance of your crew. Experience of marine passenger operations is preferred, as your work will be focused on leading your crew to ensure that our vessels are at all times operated to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Your excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills will ensure that your crew is motivated to achieve departmental goals and objectives. You will be required to work under pressure, whilst maintaining a high degree of concentration and care, and at the same time, excel at dealing with difficult customers in a polite, friendly, yet firm manner. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that onboard maintenance and training requirements are met and that the associated records are accurately maintained. A natural ‘people person’, you will enjoy working as part of the larger Company team in order to deliver the excellent level of customer service that characterises our business. Hours are based on 41 hours per week, working on a rostered shift system covering a 24-hour operation, over 7 days a week. Accommodation isn’t available on-board so it’s key that you reside a commutable distance from our Southampton terminals. Engineer Officer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Officer on a full time fixed term basis until March 2026.   You’ll be responsible for the operation and maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery, together with all technical on-board systems. Other duties will include the maintenance of galley and passenger services equipment, fabric maintenance of machinery spaces and receipt of fuel oil and lubricating oil bunkers. In addition, you’ll be expected to assist the deck crew with the operation of the hydraulic equipment associated with loading practices.   You will on occasion be required to relieve Chief Engineers when they are on leave. You will require an ENG1 and need a minimum of an STCW95 EOOW certificate with recent seagoing experience, and should have a good working knowledge of the maintenance requirements of medium speed diesels and their associated electro-hydraulic systems, as well as a working knowledge of computer systems.   You must also be able diagnose and rectify faults in a wide range of machinery, including propulsion systems. Good communication skills are paramount as are excellent written and verbal skills. Hours are based on a 41 per week, working on a rostered shift system covering a 22-hour operation, over 7 days a week. Accommodation isn’t available on-board so it’s key that you reside a commutable distance from our Southampton terminals.
