Permanent Senior Master (Hi Speed)

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Senior Master (Hi Speed) to join our Marine Operations team. This is a senior maritime leadership role with overall accountability for the safe, efficient and legally compliant operation of our hi-speed vessels, while driving excellence in crew performance, safety culture, vessel standards and passenger experience.  As a Senior Master, you will spend approximately 75% of your time in command of vessels and 25% undertaking leadership, administration and operational improvement activities that support the wider fleet.

What You'll Be Responsible For 

Leading the safe navigation and operation of high-speed passenger vessels. Ensuring full compliance with maritime legislation, company procedures and industry best practice. Driving a proactive and positive safety culture through effective leadership and continuous improvement initiatives. Managing vessel readiness, maintenance planning, refits and statutory inspections. Coaching, mentoring and developing Masters, Officers and crew members. Conducting performance reviews, supporting career development and succession planning. Working closely with Marine, Engineering, Customer Services and Shoreside teams to deliver an exceptional passenger experience. About You 

You will be a confident maritime leader with proven command experience on hi-speed vessels and a passion for developing people and operational excellence. You will be capable of making sound decisions under pressure while inspiring teams to consistently achieve the highest standards.

Essential Requirements

Certificate of Competency: Master 500 GT (minimum). Southampton and Cowes Pilotage Exemption Certificates. Previous command experience on high-speed vessels. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills. A collaborative and professional approach to leadership.
