Our Warehouse/Stores team are on the lookout for an Operative to join them in a fixed term capacity, on a 32 hour a week contract based on 4 of 7 days. Shifts are usually 8 hours long with an earliest start time of 0500 and the latest finish time is currently 1600. This role is based in our Southampton Ferry Terminal. 
In this role, you will be working in the heart of our business, supporting teams across all functions to ensure the smooth running of the operation. A driver’s licence is a pre-requisite for this vacancy as you will be using the Stores van to complete deliveries.
You will be the type of person who enjoys working in a vibrant, energetic environment with the ability to manage your own time effectively. You will get to engage with stakeholders throughout the business through the receiving, storing and distributing of goods that come into the operation.
The role requires someone who enjoys working in an intensive manual handling environment, as carrying and moving stock is a key part of the role. Deadlines can be tight so working quickly with precision and attention to detail is important, especially during stock takes and auditing periods.
As you will be taking requisitions from our systems, further systems training will be provided. Exposure to different systems will become available to you as you grow in the role, so you will need to feel comfortable using a computer. The team are a close-knit group who work in a fun environment and are more than willing to help train and support you.

Tasks include:

• Ordering and taking delivery of stock from suppliers
• Making sure our operation has deliveries in time to provide a great customer service
• Taking requisitions from our back of house computer systems
• Safely putting away and managing stock
• Short drop driving operations
